Earlier this week Examiner.com hosted an article claiming that Tottenham looked to be the front runners in the race to sign highly rated Belgian international youngster Eden Hazard this summer.
However, Eden Hazard himself has made comments quoted in The Sun that suggest he could be more interested in a move to Tottenham’s local North London Derby rivals, Arsenal:
“The level of the matches, the atmosphere in the stadiums, this is still well above anything I’ve experienced so far in France and that attracts me.
“The priority for Eden is one thing: games, opportunities. Goal.com quoted the senior Hazard from a previous newspaper interview with Het Nieuwsblad:
He also continued to comment on why England and the Premier League is his preferred choice:
“That’s the championship where I think I can express myself better. The club has a right hand side that is wide open for opportunity as Aaron Lennon is likely to be forced to make room for the young Belgian.
“We have to be honest, even though Eden has plenty of talent, the competition for places is huge there.”
“In addition, at Arsenal, there is a French coach and French players, as well as my compatriot Thomas Vermaelen.”
– Harry Redknapp and Tottenham could land in demand star Eden Hazard claims player
“We also considered the Primera Division, but there are only two teams in Spain if you want to win silverware: Real and Barcelona.
Those reasoning’s are what seem to be making a move to Tottenham the most attractive at the time for the young player. It might be better to join a club just below the biggest.”
The debate over were the talented player will go is likely to last all through the spring until he finally makes a decision in the summer. As the reason continues on Hazard’s form will have a lot of the deciding factor as to which teams will truly splash out the cash to get his signature.
“For now I can only say what Eden said on Monday on TV: Yes, there is interest from Spurs, and no, there’s no offer.
“Of course, it’s always more fun when it’s the football is beautiful.
“There are several clubs that interest me in England and Arsenal is really a part.
It now looks as that rumor continues to be gathering steam across the European media as the player’s father, Thierry Hazard has made comments in regards to his son’s impending summer transfer. If he were to move to a major English Premier League club such as Manchester United or Manchester City he is less likely to make an immediate impact.. Where I can learn more, too.
“And I know many people in England this is another added attraction.”
The Daily Mail is also claiming that Tottenham are leading the race for the young player despite interst from Chelsea and both Manchester based EPL clubs.
“He’s made the choice to go to England,”
“It’s difficult to explain why, It’s a question of feeling.
For Hazard there is more chance for pitch time in a squad like that of Harry Redknapp’s at Tottenham
